Mayfair International Academy provides quality education for
children from 4 to 18 years old. We offer our students the best
international qualifications in English, which are recognized
worldwide.
The main focus in Reception is to provide a stimulating
and enjoyable learning environment which will enable
children to settle in quickly and happily and develop their
personal and social skills. In the Mayfair Reception class
children develop good learning attitudes and dispositions
following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
of Language and Literacy, Mathematical Development,
Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Physical
Development, Creative Development and Personal,
Social and Health Education.
Mayfair Primary follows the programmes of study as required
by the British National Curriculum, which we feel offers the
right balance of core skills, time to learn through play and
to develop as children. The National Literacy and Numeracy
Strategies, Schemes of Work and Key Objectives are
incorporated into the school day for a well-rounded primary
education. The Primary is registered with the DCSF as an
official centre for SATS.

In years 7, 8 and 9 pupils follow the British National Curriculum and study the following subjects:
Mathematics, English, Science, Spanish, Drama, Art, Geography, History, Information Technology, PSHE
(Personal, Social and Health Education) and Physical Education.
In years 10 and 11 pupils follow nine GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) courses from the following
subjects: English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Combined Science, Geography,
History, Information Technology, Business and Communication Systems, Spanish, Art and Health and Social Care.
For pupils continuing on to Sixth Form, Mayfair offers a wide choice of subjects at A Level including
Mathematics, English, Spanish, French, Psychology, Business Studies, History, Art and PE.

Due to the importance of the individual within our school,
Mayfair Academy offers secondary school students two
pathways to success. At the end of year 9 students can choose between curriculum A, which combines GCSE and A Level studies with the added benefit of achieving a professional qualification in Fitness Instructing, and curriculum B, which is the standard GCSE and A Level curriculum as offered in other International Schools on the coast.
